Alexander Wöran • Towards Playfulness in Media Art Archiving

Alexander Wöran, born in 1987, studied Biomedicine in Graz and Comparative Literature as well as Molecular Biology in Vienna, he currently lives in Linz. After his studies he worked several years for Ars Electronica, where he edited the catalogue for the festival and took part in conceptualizing exhibitions for the Ars Electronica Center.

From 2021 to 2023 he was a research associate at the University of Krems (Center for Image Sciences). At Krems he developed tools for digital image collections and researched the topic of media art archiving in the framework of ADA (Archive of Digital Art), a collective online platform to document media art. He also writes prose and experiments with language in various media.
