The International Journal for Digital Art History (DAHJ) researches the impact of new technologies on art history. It reflects upon the possibilities and opportunities of digital tools for art historical research. In contrast, the history of digital art deals with artistic practice and its continual engagement with computational media, as well as the Internet. However, both of these fields have been shaped by the interactions between art and information science. For this reason, the artistic engagement with these tools must be considered as a crucial vector within the expanded field of Digital Art History

Interface Cultures at the University of Art and Design in Linz, Austria provides an internationally oriented master and research program in Interactive Digital Arts, led by Christa Sommerer & Laurent Mignonneau.

If you are interested in applying for the Interface Cultures master program, the registration round window is now open until 1st Sept., 2019
The interview takes place on 9th Sept., 2019.

You need a valid bachelor (or equivalent) degree to qualify for the admission to this master program. For EU-citizens the program is generally free of charge, non-EU-citizens currently have to pay a fee of 726,72 € per semester. The master program is fully held in English language, our faculty also can support German, French and Spanish speaking students.

Interface Cultures will be displaying a selection of artifacts from the recent Computer Mouse / Keyboard Contest at the Day of Open House. The projects developed by Matthias Schäfer, Patricia Cadavid Laddy, Stella Markidi and Sergio Lecuona Fornes can be tested by the visitors themselves.
